Global Assistance’s predecessor, UNION Érted Kft., was established at the end of 2018 by UNION Vienna Insurance Group Biztosító Zrt. with the aim of arranging the necessary private healthcare examinations and treatments for its health insurance customers.

At the same time, from 2019, Help24 Assistance Kft. operated as a subsidiary of Alfa Vienna Insurance Group Biztosító Zrt., providing customers with assistance services related to home, travel and motor insurance, as well as claims handling, IT and legal support.

In 2025, following a strategic decision by Vienna Insurance Group AG, the two subsidiaries merged and continued their operations under the name Global Assistance Kft. The merger created new synergies, enabling more efficient operations by combining private healthcare coordination with property insurance assistance. As a result, one of Hungary’s leading assistance service providers was established, with one of the country’s largest customer bases and one of the broadest ranges of services.
